Experience: 17 Years


Nithil Dennis has 17 years of combined experience in both academic and industry and holds a Degree in Visual Communication, specializing in Photography from Loyola College, Chennai and a Masters in Electronic Media, specializing in Film and television production. He also has a 3-year Diploma in Printing Technology. He has worked with leading photographers and filmmakers, which include International Award-winning Environment and wildlife filmmaker / photographer Mike Pandey. He has directed and filmed two documentaries, which have been screened in International Film festivals. He is a UGC-NET qualified academician with 8 years of teaching experience in various specializations of Photography & films. He has worked in leading educational Institutes holding various important positions and responsibilities. He also has worked in Argentina as a Photo and Video journalist for one of the leading English news website based in Buenos Aires. He loves to travel and has a strong sense of identifying photo stories. His research Interests are 'Digital Storytelling through Images' and 'Representation of ethnographic Communities through Images'

Girish Sonalkar

Experience: 26 Years


Girish Sonalkar has been teaching photography for 15 years. He has also assisted well known commercial Photographers like Sandeep Mhatre, Rajeshwar Mande for 10 years.
He has worked as guest lecturer with reputed schools and colleges he has immense experience in freelance Photography and digital printing. He is loved by students for his teaching expertise in product photography.

Shailesh Kotkar

Designation: Assistant professor

Qualification: Master of Fine Arts

Experience: 25 Years


Shailesh Kotkar is Postgraduates as MFA (App. Art). He has 22 years of experience in the field of art and design.
He has worked on various national and international brands in the field of applied art, Photography, Digital post production and Interior design. He has 12 years of experience as lecturer with reputed international schools and art colleges in Mumbai and Pune. He has his expertise in Advertising design, Visual communication, Photography and Post production. He has conducted various workshops on art and craft for schools, colleges and Corporates.

Sachin Chandane

Designation: Assistant professor

Qualification: Master craftsman Diploma in professional photography and digital imaging.

Experience: 8 Years


Sachin was introduced to the beauty of captured moments even before he could hold a camera. His passion for photography was so strong that he learnt everything himself.
He has explored whole lot from lights and clothes to smallest details of camera. Richard Avedon and Gautam Rajadhyaksha influence him. Fashion and Fine Art Photography is his favorite and most explored area. Recent assignments have given him a chance to work with Pune's and Mumbai's most talented models, stylists, make-up artists and designers.

Vijay Shelar

Designation: Assistant Professor

Qualification: Pursue PhD.UGC NET.MFA.BFA.GD.ART

Experience: Industrial – 11 years.
Teaching: 6 years and 7 Months


After his graduation in visual art, he went to assist as an internship for Ace Fashion Photographer Atul Kasbekar, He worked 5 years for him.

He assisted many photographers as a freelancer, and started working as a freelance photographer in Mumbai and Pune; He got an appreciation on, major assignment shoot by him for the 25th-anniversary campaign on ‘CRY’.

Puneet Chandhok

Designation: Teaching Associate

Qualification: Post graduate diploma in Social Communications Media in Sophia's Mumbai, BSc. Graduate in Microbiology in Sophia's Mumbai

Experience: 12 Years


Driven by her staunch passion in Photojournalism, Puneet became an active panel member on the Zee group discussions on the women security issues in 2013. Her strong body of work has fetched her national as well as international recognition when she was short-listed as 1 of the 6 Indians to be awarded with scholarship in photography at the International Angkor Photography Workshop in Cambodia in 2008.
Her news photo was awarded the Best Cover Photo of the year Press Club Calendar Awards in 2011 by renowned actor Abhishek Bachhan. She was awarded the National Photo Award 2010 in the news category by Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray. Her photos were exhibited under the category of Best photos of the year in All India Photo Contest, 2010. Her work had first attained recognition when her photograph was the only work to be sold in the annual exhibition at Sophia College, 2007.
While graduating in Microbiology, she realized that she was not meant for the laboratories. She picked up her camera and got actively involved in freelancing for several independent clients like the Mid-day Meal Project for ISCKON in 2005 and others. Her post-graduation studies at Sophia's gave a definition to her photography skills. She started freelancing as a photojournalist cum reporter for The Indian Express Mumbai in 2007. Her career as a Photojournalist, Reporter and Photo research analyst grew leaps and bounds with her first appointment as a staff employee with the Hindustan Times Mumbai in 2008. She further got appointed as a Senior Photojournalist, Reporter & Photo Research Analyst with the DNA, Mumbai in 2012. Alongside her career in photojournalism, she also specializes in Architectural and Interior Photography, table top and product photography with independent clients like the Taj Hyderabad, IIT Mumbai, Fame Adlabs, PRA office in National Stock Exchange. She has been a Creative Writer with several online portals.
